Controlled substance security is one of the key challenges facing EMS and fire. Departments need maximum security and quick access to medications in critical patient care.
Security
The NarcBox is built from extruded, lightweight, durable aircraft-grade anodized aluminum. It has a high-resolution resistive touch display (works with gloves) for PIN entry, plus an RFID key card entry system.
Traceability and accountability
Every entry is time, date and medic stamped and sent instantly to a secure third-party server. Each access can also record medications administered and a dispatch or ePCR call number. The NarcBox reports temperature and notifies administrators when narcotics are outside the set range.
Shift-change reporting (12, 24 or 48 hour shifts) emails supervisors customized reports by station, vehicle, medic or NarcBox.
Installation and maintenance
Reporting and management are fully cloud based: supervisors run reports, view access logs, add or remove medics and reset PINs from any internet-connected device. The NarcBox is plug and play and connects to a vehicle MiFi or station Wi-Fi in minutes, with no special hardware to buy or install.
Portability
The NarcBox includes an internal battery that keeps full function and security for up to 5 days without power, for power loss, special events or search and rescue. The rotating screen allows vertical or horizontal mounting in almost any cabinet.
